      • Letter invites began: December 2023 for those 87+.

      • Online applications: May 2024 for ages 65–69.

      • Coverage began: Seniors could see a dentist as early as May 2024, ongoing based on invite dates 
         

    • Children (under 18) & Adults with Disability Tax Credit

      • Applications opened: June 2024 

      • Coverage start: Rolling/ongoing from that time.
         

    • All Remaining Eligible Adults (18–64)

      • Application phases (2025):

        • Ages 55–64: May 1, 2025

        • 18–34: May 15, 2025

        • 35–54: May 29, 2025

      • Coverage begins: As early as June 1, 2025

  • You can apply online at Canada.ca/dental or call 1-833-537-4342. To check your status, call the same toll‑free number and press 3 to access automated updates

  • Covered services include:

    • Preventive care (cleanings, exams, fluoride, sealants)

    • Diagnostics (X‑rays)

    • Restorative treatments (fillings, crowns, root canals, dentures)

    • Emergency treatments (extractions, pain/infection control)

    • Additional specialized services require pre-authorization starting November 2024

  • ny licensed dental provider who agrees to bill Sun Life directly can accept CDCP patients. Since 2024, providers no longer need to formally register—just opt in to direct bill

  • It depends on your income:

    • Under $70K: 0% co-pay

    • $70–79,999: 40% co-pay

    • $80–89,999: 60% co-pay

    Note: If your dentist charges above CDCP fee rates, you'll pay the differenc

  • Yes. CDCP can coordinate with provincial/territorial plans. However, if you have private or workplace dental insurance, you're not eligible

  • Coverage lasts one year. You'll need to renew annually—renewals opened March 2025, and submissions are due by June 1, 2025
